Impress nails winter collection

Impress nails have just launched a new winter collection with some new shades that are even more realistic looking than the predecessor.
The nails are shinier even more similar to gel nails and the colours that have been added are really versatile for every day and special occasion wear.
My particular favorites are the nude (riot act) and grey (rumor mill) shades I think they look really natural and the type of colours I would normally go for.

I'd love to see them mix it up a little and maybe add in the option of a sparkly accent nail ( maybe they will put my idea on file ;p) of course you can do this yourself by mixing and matching between packs. I've since been informed that impress do in fact do these packs of nails and I've seen a picture and they are beautiful ( I'll add it on my instagram for you)
Anyone who has read previous posts of mine on impress nails will know I'm a giant fan these not only look real but I have personally tested their staying power. They can be applied in under 4 minutes and lasted about 6 days on for me just make sure you leave them on for a while maybe an hour before you wash your hands as it can affect the adhesive.
These are fantastic for the party season as you can easily change up your look for each party night.
Impress nails are available in Dunnes stores and pharmacies nationwide retailing at € 9.99.

ImPress Nails Review

Hi everyone
I'm talking today about Broadway ImPRESS nails the press on manicure.
I was sent these by Caroline at Publicity Loft, all my opinions are honest.

So to start I don't wear false nails don't get gel manicures, I'm a simple keep them relatively short and polished mostly because I enjoy painting my nails but also because I don't like the look of extra long decorated nails. When I think of false nails It brought to mind really stiff nails needing to be applied with glue that I bought in the pound shop when I was about 11. The nails that I was sent are happily not in league with the ones etched in my memory.

The nails come in really clever packaging inside a replica nail polish bottle and come with 24 nails a prep pad and a teeny nail file. Prices start at €8.50 and they are available in pharmacies and penneys stores Nationwide.  There is a huge variety of designs from classic to really funky and everything in between. I received the medium length nails in shade Epic Win which is a really glossy pink/purple colour.
I really like the shade it is vibrant and eye catching and the gloss is a really fab effect.
I was in two minds when I was measuring them against my nails but went on ahead anyway.
These nails are aimed towards convenience something that you can press on last minute, I decided that to test these out I would follow the steps and use a stopwatch to see exactly how long It took me to get them on.
To start with you need to wash your hands and then use the prep pad, you then pull off the tab and stick on the nail SIMPLE!

I got the first hand on with no problems at all until it reached time to do the second and I realised that I wouldn't be able to pull away the tabs with the false nails on so I pulled off all the tabs for second hand at once. If putting them on again I would take off all the stickers at the beginning. I put on all of the nails and was finished in under 4 minutes!

Definitely a brilliant fast option for on the go nails.

I liked the results but felt that the nails were a bit too long for me so to further my experimentation the box said that after 30 minutes I could trim and file the nails. So that's exactly what I did. The nails were easy enough to cut and only required a tiny amount of filing.

Once they were cut down a little I fell in love they're perfect and they look very real. They are really easy to wear as they are soft and flexible. I would definitely recommend for a wedding guest or any other occasion.

I was hard on these nails so can testify to them being hard wearing, I did washing up including pot scrubbing wearing them then cleaned a dogs ears and helped repairing a lawnmower! I know I lead such a glamorous life!!
I like things that are easy but look amazing so I will be purchasing these I think the short length will be the ones for me, I am especially excited about this design It looks so fun!

If you have liked the review please leave me a comment, The nails claim to last up to a week so they will remain on my fingers until they fall off and I will update on twitter @clareken86 of their progress!

Summer Nails....

Summer for me is all about sunshine, tans and painted toenails!
I love summer nail polishes especially for toes as I always feel I can go a little brighter and more adventurous with my toenail polish.
So when It came to blogging about them I picked out some lovely bright colours for toes and some slightly more muted but equally gorgeous colours for my fingers :) I had lots of fun spending the day testing these polishes, Its a nice treat to take time out for a nail painting day, hope this gives you all some inspiration!

First this look Is O.P.I. nail polish in Sweet Heart combined with Barry M in Majesty.
These are the nails that I had for my wedding. I wanted something soft and romantic but didn't want a french mani for being a bride! There are 3 coats of the O.P.I polish to get to this coverage and colour but It does work with 2 coats. This is long enough lasting polish I tend to get around about a week from it and that's without a top coat.
The gold Barry M that I have used on my ring fingers is from the textured nail effect series. this is 2 coats shown here and it is very long lasting. I recommend using a base polish under this as is can be pretty hard to get off without one. Together these add up to perfect summer nails :)

Next up sticking with the fingers is another favourite, Essie Bikini So Teeny. This polish also featured in my wedding this time on my toes as my something blue :) Its a beautiful shade of blue and glides on so easily and lasts forever. I can get close to ten days from this polish with no chipping and only slight fading. Its beautiful on both fingers and toes and has a slight glitter / shimmer going through it. This polish has definitely made me an essie fan!

On to toes this is Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polish. First off the picture here does not do this polish justice. The shade I'm using is Grapefruit and in real life it is way more vibrant and really is hi-shine. I used 2 coats but you really could get away with one as it covers a lot on first coat. I'm definitely interested to try more of these gelly range as I am very impressed by this budget polish.

Finally I couldn't do a summer nails post without including this Rimmel Lasting Finish polish in Sunshine.
What says summer better that a lovely bright yellow polish named Sunshine :) This polish goes on easy lasts for as long as it takes to grow off and is beautifully bright in only 2 coats. It looks especially pretty when teamed with brown (tan) sandals and wedges. Definitely the perfect summer toe nail polish.
