Most Repurchased Products

I think the testament of a good beauty product is owning multiples of it!
I was practically falling over some products I've got so many of them and thought sharing them might make for some good reccomendations.

There not in any particular order of favourites but I'm starting off with the one I have the most of.

Catrice Ultra Slimmatic Brow Pencil in Medium

I LOVE this brow pencil! This has been the only brow product I have ever used that makes me look like I've got a handle on my brows. The medium shade is a perfect match to my brow colour, and the pencil is so thin you can be really precise so you actually get the shape your drawing rather than the vague shape with clumsy smudges either side. This brow pencil costs €3.50 and you can see from the picture this one is used and repurchased a lot!

Waxperts Beautiful Body Oil

I was really lucky to be sent a sample of this when it was first released and it's become one of those can't live without products for me, I panic when it's reaching about 1/4 left in bottle and rarely leave it to chance that I would completely run out. The oil is created for after waxing but it's so much more than that. I use it as a general body moisturiser and to help me relax and sleep, I even used it to help ease morning sickness at one point. Waxperts have a new candle coming soon too very excited to see what that one is like. The oil retails at € 12.95

 Bioderma Sensibio H2o

Bioderma first landed on Irish shores about 4 years ago and since then I have been hooked on their micellar water and have religiously repurchased without straying. It cleans all of my make up away, is really gentle on my skin and I've never had any reaction or soreness from using it. It also never makes my skin feel dry. I'm a big fan of all the Bioderma products but it's easy to see why this is their bestseller. If you have never tried this do it now! Prices vary from €5.50 to €16.00.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Light

I have a ridiculous amount of foundation and loads that I repurchase often but this one is my go to day to day foundation. It does it's job well gives great coverage dosnt oxidise on me and lasts the full day. It dosnt feel heavy and I've never had any reactions from it.
It's on the pricey end of the scale but it lasts me about 3/4 months of daily Wear for € 40.00

What are your regular repurchases? Be sure to let me know so I've got a reason to buy more new stuff LOL!

This post features no samples.

Mum & Baby : Multi use products

Hi all this post is slightly different than the regular beauty posts that I do as since becoming a mum I've found that I don't have as much time (as much being none!) To spend on myself.
The idea for this post came from a friend telling me about a cream her sister bought for her baby but now uses on herself. It got me thinking about how much time and money could be saved by investing in dual use products that are not only suitable but really work for mum and baby.
I have tested out a couple of different products for this post  I have only included the ones that I really liked as I want the post to only focus on what works.
I'm going to start with the basics and move along from there.

Simple Baby Moisturising Shampoo

You will start to see a pattern during this post that there is a very well known baby brand completely left out and the reason is I simply don't like it. So this led me from the beginning to explore other brands for baby essentials. This has been a great find for me not only is it really gentle on my little boy but since giving birth I've gotten a serious case of dry scalp! My problem with my scalp is that regular shampoos that work eg head and shoulders is just far to harsh on me at the moment. Well to say I am delighted is an understatement this shampoo has been great since first use it moisturised and stopped my itching ( majorly embarrassing thing to have ) I shouldn't be surprised as simple is one of my favourite brands. This one will be a firm fixture for the future.

Cussons Mum & Me Wash

I am in love with this baby wash it smells like a newborn baby in a bottle its just so warm and fuzzy that I just want to wrap myself up in it :)
I'm pretty sure I bought this to make up the price to get free delivery on a boots order but I am so glad that I did. I have tested a little for myself too of course and its a great wash that can be used by all of the family. I really like the packaging and the pump is so handy when you are trying to get baby bath ready you would be surprised how inconvenient it can be to have to open a bottle lid. So as I said although it can be used by everyone I am going to keep this one special just for baby's baths so I can keep the lovely feeling that I get every time I smell it associated with the lovely ritual of bathing baby!

Elave Baby Lotion

I'm delighted to be able to include an Irish brand in this post as I always like to support them if I can. So it isn't advertised as such but I have been using this and finding it really good for clearing up baby's cradle cap. It looks very messy at first when you use it for this so I'd maybe suggest using it at night and washing baby's hair the next morning as at first it goes clumpy and looks way worse but then when you wash it using a little shampoo and a soft cloth it just slides away. Of course this is also a great general baby lotion and very handy to use on yourself I apply to my arms while standing beside the changing table every morning and I have to say they are baby soft. It takes slightly longer to dry in than regular body lotions that mums might be used to but to be honest it is worth the wait as the results are so much better than what I had expected. This lotion is approved by paediatricians for use from newborn and it contains no (take a breath!) sulfates, parabens, perfumes, formaldehyde, alcohol & soap.  Its also a great price retailing at just under €8 a quality product at a budget price. This was my first time to use this brand and I am looking forward to trying out some more of their stuff.

Pure Potions Lavender Nappy Salve

This little pot of nappy balm is absolutely the stand out of the bunch, its like a magic potion that can be used for everything! It does so much it would almost be easier for them to only list what it doesn't do.
The only rule with this is that as it is a nappy balm if you want to use it for all of the other things you absolutely have to maintain a strict no double dip policy.
Once you keep to that rule it is first of all a great nappy balm that clears up any redness & sore spots within a couple of hours you just need to warm it between your fingertips before applying. This doubles as a really good lip balm for mum - again only if you keep your double dip rule! I also used this on some really stubborn dry patches I was having around my nose I applied morning and night and my skin was almost back to normal after only two days. I fell in love with lavender while I was pregnant as I religiously used waxperts beautiful body oil and I loved being pregnant so the scent has lovely associations for me. The salve is made with 100% natural ingredients with no perfume or parabens.
All in all a very good investment retailing at £ 8.99.

Bioderma atoderm nourishing cream

Bioderma is a French skincare brand that is new to Ireland, it is gaining popularity really quickly. I have tried a couple of products from their range which I'll be talking about in an upcoming post but today the focus is on the nourishing cream from the atoderm range for dry skin. The atoderm range is suitable for babies from newborn or 7 weeks depending on the particular product.
This is the one product from this post that is aimed towards grown ups with the bonus of being suitable for baby. As I mentioned before since giving birth I have been suffering with very dry skin and having a new baby have not had much time to do anything about it. I have been using this cream every morning on both baby and me to combat the dryness. It works instantly and has a gorgeous texture that holds the moisture in skin but dosnt feel greasy. My absolute favourite thing about this cream is that you can use it on your face as well as your body which saves time and money! I must add here that this cream is suitable for use on dermatitis. The cream is fragrance & paraben free and the rrp is €12.50.

Waxperts Beautiful Body oil

A few weeks ago I recieved a lovely surprise of Waxperts brand new Beautiful Body Oil and have been putting it through lots of testing since.
I am a massive fan of Waxperts ingrown hair pads #wonderpads and was very excited for this new launch.
First Impressions were of fantastic packaging with a pin up girl on the inside of the bottle which is a signature waxperts look, the pump on the bottle is great as It lets out the oil in small amounts which I do find a problem with other oils.
The oil is lavender scented which I normally hate because I find It so overpowering but Waxperts have managed to balance the scent where you have a milder lavender than you get in most cosmetics which was a massive plus for me.
The oil is really lightweight and its not greasy at all. when you apply it it dries almost instantly and you get none of the stickiness that you can get with some body oils.
The oil is formulated to be used after waxing but in waxperts style it is a multi use product. It can also be used for soothing sunburn and at night time to help you sleep.  I currently have baby no.1 on board and I have been using this on my belly to prevent stretch marks. I havent had much time to spend applying moisturisers so this has been amazing as It is really easy and quick to apply and dries almost instantly. I have found it really soothing and even used it to soothe my tummy spasms during my morning sickness.
My skin has never been so soft and I have also been told by Waxperts owner Ellen that baby will remember the scent and I can use it on him/her when they arrive!
This is a product that deserves as much praise as their first retail product and is very worthy of the #wonderoil. It will remain a staple for me throughout my pregnancy and far beyond.
Waxperts Beautiful Body Oil is now available to buy on dolledup.ie and in waxperts salons for €9.99.

Beautiful Irish Brands : Waxperts

Welcome to the latest edition of my Beautiful Irish Brands series. Todays post is all about the wonderful Waxperts and the ladies who created It.

Waxperts was formed in 2008 by friends and business partners Ellen Kavanagh and Trish O Brien. They started off and still are based in Dun Laoghaire Co. Dublin.
The waxperts story is a genuine 'built from the ground up' success story that leaves you really rooting for them once you have heard it. It started as a room in a clinic doing waxing for a small customer base and with grants from the local enterprise board and extreme hard work grew into what it is today a full waxing salon and their own range of wax which is the only depilatory wax manufactured in Ireland and the only of its kind in the world. It is currently used in over 300 salons in Ireland and the UK, there is also the extremely exciting news that waxperts are going to be breaking into the US market after recent talks with the worlds number 1 waxing brand! ( i'll have to leave you guessing on what that brand is)
Both Ellen and Trish are beauty therapists who solely specialise in waxing and client safety and hygiene which is why they have a 'no double dipping' policy that they and every salon that uses the wax abides by.
Waxperts have a number of products that include hot wax, strip wax, pre wax oil, after wax oil and finally Ingrown hair pads which I have reviewed for you today.

Let me start off by telling you that I am the poster girl for ingrown hairs that go bad! I cant even count how many times I have had to visit the doctors in the last few years to get medication to reduce inflammation ect due to ingrown hairs. So when I was sent my ingrown hair pads I of course already had some that I could immediately begin testing on. One of the ingrown hairs I had was definitely making its way to being a doctor visit one. To use the pads you simply take a pad and rub over the area you want to treat after showering.
I used the pads every day for 3 days to get rid of the ingrown hair which was inflamed to about the size of a marble on day 1. I really fell like im giving TMI on this but I think its really good to know just how much of a lifesaver these ingrown hair pads are. For me to be able to reduce an ingrown hair by just using a pad has been a bigger lifesaver than I can express. The pads have also meant that the ingrown hair has disappeared with no scarring or scar tissue which unfortunately I have too much of. Thank you Waxperts I will never again be without these pads and fingers crossed I will never again have to be subject to the pain of ingrown hairs, I am only sad that I hadn't found these sooner.
The pads rrp is €9.99 available from www.waxpertswax.com
They are also available on cloud10beauty and dolledup although the pads are so good that they are currently sold out in all of these places! Keep your eyes peeled for when they come back into stock I know I will.
Have you tried any waxpert products or been waxed in a salon that uses their products. Let me know in the comments.
