Whats in my hospital bags?

Hi everyone
a little break from my regular beauty posts to share what I have been packing into my hospital bag for my upcoming labour! I actually cant believe that I am at 36 weeks already this stage has just flown around for me and with the packing of the bag is now getting very real.

Lots of hospital lists are already out there and have such diversity so this is just my version I will be bringing a bag for labour, one for my hospital stay and as a beauty blogger the important one my washbag! I am a FTM so there may be some bits that I wont use and others that I will send for so dont judge me too harshly! I am just going to dive straight in and if anyone has any questions re quantities ect you can leave a comment at end :)

Labour Bag

2 nightdresses with button down front if you can get them
Maternity Pads-green pack
Long sleeve sleep suit
vest
Nappy
Hat & Mitts
Socks (adult ones!)
Glucose sweets
Cereal Bars
Water

Wash Bag
This will be in my labour bag to start.

travel size where possible to save space

Shampoo- think I packed head and shoulders!
Shower gel - body shop vanilla brulee
Water Spray I've got LA Roche posay and avene and am considering adding in voya ritzy spritzy for making me feel lovely after! ( am I going overboard with these?)
toothbrush & paste
dental floss
deoderant
razor
2 face cloths
Lip balm - I've a Mia and Dom peppermint & lavender pot and LA Roche posay stick balm.
Simple moisturizer
Bioderma micellar water travel size
Hair band,clips & bobbins
Holos happy momma oil
Vaseline & sudocreme

All of this is housed in the beautiful eve wash bag from the quintessential .

Of course there is also my make up to consider , I will be going minimalist with it but I still need a little bit. It took me a while to decide what would come with me but I have decided on rimmel 25 hour foundation and my real techniques buffing brush for application, physicians formula happy booster blush its so pretty plus has the bonus of having a mirror if I can't get one elsewhere. I also would of added my physicians formula mineral wear powder but it got smashed and so would be far too messy :(
Next in is fuschia eyebrow kit and an angle brush for application, my rimmel scandal eyes mascara will also be making the trip as will wet n wild lipstick in pinkerbell to give me a pop of colour. So that's pretty minimalistic at only 5 makeup items especially when I imagine I'm going to need every bit of make up I can lay my hands on!

Main Bag

My main bag is mostly made up of very practical things

2 dark towels
Nightdresses & PJs - I got a tip from friend to get the button down front PJs, to wear a vest top with bottoms and then use the shirt part instead of a dressing gown for when I need it as in July it should be too hot to use gown.
Bridget jonses , lol you all know what I mean :-)
4 packs maternity towels
1 pack size 1 nappies - I've gone for pampers
Cotton wool
Water wipes
Cellular blankets
Baby towels
Muslin cloths
Baby hats & scratch mitts
8 baby sleep suits
8 vests
Cardigans- my mam knitted these as I couldn't find any and just couldn't get into the mind frame of knitting them myself.
Bibs
Breast pads
2 nursing bras even though I'm not planning to BF
Flip flops
Phone charger-very important for all the showing off after I imagine :-).

All of the baby clothes I have bought in size 0-1 as at 35 weeks baby is already 6lb and I've been told is gonna be a big baby!

I'd really appreciate if you would let me know any tips or anything you think I have left out in the comments so I can add more to my stash :-)

Physicians Formula: Mineral Wear & Happy Booster

Hi everyone, sorry for the little break I took this week was doing lots of behind the scenes work for lots of exciting things coming up soon.
Today I have a review of the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Powder and Happy Booster Blush.

Physicians Formula are a well established brand that are relatively new to Ireland everything is under €20 and the products are amazing quality.
First I will start with the Mineral Powder, this is a compact powder with a really cool packaging design the powder is on top and can then be lifted up to reveal a mirror and small brush.

The first day that I wore this was at a wedding and every time it left my bag it was snatched away by other ladies really intrigued by what it was and all the ladies at my table had a little trial of it too! So this is a definite tick for the packaging being desirable and eye catching.
As for the powder I am a huge fan of Mineral foundations and powders. I have combination dry skin so do need a little powder for my t-zone but anything other than mineral dries It all out badly.
This is hands down the best Mineral powder that I have used it was so light when applied but worked for keeping away the oil and added an extra bit of coverage that you get with a mineral powder. I have worn this over a lot of different foundations while testing but the most impressive was wearing it over Estee Lauder Double Wear. I fully expected it to cake on my skin immediately because DW is already drying I tend not to be able to wear any powder with it but this worked like a dream.
It managed to make the DW even more flawless.
I have also worn this alone a few days in the trial and although it isnt marketed as a mineral foundation with a little concealer applied first It does a pretty good job at creating a light daytime base.
This mineral powder gets a massive thumbs up from me and although I got this as a PR sample I will definitely be purchasing another. This retails at €17.90 a bargain for such a quality powder.

The next product that I have is the Happy Booster Blush.
This is another really eye catching product, the packaging is really similar to the mineral powder with the mirror and brush underneath the blush.
The blush is designed with lovely hearts on the product and it has the scent of Violet to make you happy and It really does give you a little boost when you smell it.
The brush that comes with it is surprisingly soft as It looks really stiff. It is perfect for application on the go but I did prefer one of my bigger brushes for applying at home.
The colour of this blush is sort of a mix of highlighter, soft pink and bronzer and even though it sounds like there is a lot going on It all blends together really well and gives a lovely natural flush look.
This is a gorgeous blush that would be at home in anyones make up bag. The happy booster blush retails at €15.90

I now have a physicians formula wishlist that consists of almost every product they make! Anything I have tried from them has been such good quality and has gone over and above my expectations for the price. Physicians Formula are available in Pharmacies Nationwide.
Have you tried any Physicians Formula or do you have a favorite. Let me know in the comments.

Budget face in Products 4

Hi everyone I cant believe its Friday again already! That means its time for the fourth installment of Budget Face in Products todays offering features products from W7, Essence, Barry M, Wet n Wild and Catrice.
I have tried something a little different today, I am going slightly au naturel and I am not wearing any foundation. I did a post earlier this week on a Physician Formula lip stain (find it here) and in my pics I wore only the lip no other make up so It inspired me to do this with no base, see how you like it and let me know with a comment at the end. As always the entire look comes in at under €20

First up as I wasnt using any base was the *W7 tea tree concealer in shade light/medium. This is a stick concealer and did give fairly good coverage. It was a little thick feeling on my skin but I do put that completely down to the fact that I had no base over It. The shade matched perfect. This actually held up really well considering It was all that I had used and hadn't even been set with powder. For this look I just drew it on with the stick and blended a little with a real techniques sponge. This concealer comes in at €4.98.

Next up was my brows for them I have used Catrice Eyebrow Filler this is an eyebrow gel with fibres to fill in gaps. I bought this as I had wanted to try this type of product since I heard of Benefit gimme brow. I just didnt like this Its not for me I need to at least try to sculpt my brows but this is for a more au-naturel look. for anyone who is looking for that look this would probably be a good product. It retails for €3.99 but I only paid €2 for it as part of a promo.

For my eyeshadow I have used *Essence Matte Glam eyeshadow in Frosted Apple this isnt normally a colour I would wear but I gave It a go and It actually started to grow on me as the day went on. Its a pink colour with lots of sparkle, there is a good bit of fall out from the shadow but still a nice pigment and good staying power. The shadow retails at €3.09 and at that price I would definitely purchase in a different colour.

Next on my eyes I used Wet n Wild Mega Protein Mascara. This retails at €2.99 and what can I say its a bit meh, I wasnt impressed with It and wouldnt wear again. Somebody who has naturally long curly lashes might like this but its just not for me.

Lastly I went with a bold lip in the form of *BarryM Loud Mouth. This is a lip gloss/stain and has a very bold colour. the shade I used was Diva. It looked a really dark maroon colour in the tube but was actually a lot more wearable while on the lip. Its not sticky which is nice but is a bit messy so I used a lip brush to apply and would reccommend to do the same. This retails at €5.99.

Todays look came in at the budget friendly price of €19.05!

As always here is my before and after shots. I love when readers leave me comments and always read and reply to all.

Physicians Formula Sexy Booster

Today I am reviewing a Lip Gloss/Stain from Physicians formula Sexy booster range*  and the shade I have is rouge (red).
Physicians formula is a well established good quality brand but is sparkling new to Ireland so a lot of people may not have heard of them. With the quality being so high and none of their products exceeding €20 I cant imagine the people of Ireland will be in the dark for much longer.

I will start off with the packaging which makes the product distinctive. It is sleek clear bottom with a red lid there is a ribbon wrapped around the tube and a stiletto heel charm attached at the front.
The gloss itself smells pleasantly like vanilla, the texture is kind of like a mousse mixed with a stain, I'm not sure if you will understand that I probably wouldn't! It goes on very sleekly and looks very glossy at first but is definitely more matte once it dries which takes about an hour which would have me class it as a stain rather than a gloss. The wand for application is a good shape and stiff enough to allow precise application.
I love bold strong lip colours and this slots straight into that category. I have never seen such a high colour pay off from a gloss/stain and the lasting power of this is amazing I am very impressed.
Please excuse the lack of other make up in my selfies but just shows how much of an impact one good product can make!

This product however does not stop at just making you look good, the range is formulated to 'inspire sexy self confidence'. One of the most notable ingredients of the range is Horny Goatweed which is an aphrodisiac from ancient Chinese Medicine which among other things is said to restore sexual fire!
All of this considered It makes this much more interesting than your average lip gloss/stain. The R.R.P. of this product is €15.90 which in my opinion is a bargain for such a multitasking product :)
As the brand is new to Ireland it isn't available everywhere yet but you can find a list of stockists on their twitter page @pformulairl
To sum up I really like this product and the brand is really fun! I am really looking forward to getting my hands on some more of the physician formula range and as always I have made myself a little wish list LOL maybe for Christmas!!
Have you tried any Physician Formula Products yet? Which are your favourites? Please leave a comment below.
